Not even sure I can count that high but I know its my turn (or past my turn) to name 25 things about me. I've been thinking about this one for a while and here is what I came up with!
1. I've never lived outside of Iowa though I am sure I've traveled more than most Iowans...I've lived in six different cities with four of them being in the DM area.Yes, I'm continential! I counted it up...
2. I am addicted to Chapstick and if I was ever a Survivor contestant my comfort item would be Chapstick.
3. I play softball in college for 2 short months, then I hurt my back and had to quit. It was the end of a promising career.
4. I love smut books! For some odd reason I enjoy reading the romance genre. Go figure.

6. I hate vacations that require relaxation. I want to run around looking at things - touring places - experiencing all I can!
7. My first car was a 1975 Malibu Classic. It was shit brown and had a huge backseat. But boy was it fun!
8. My favorite board game is Scrabble.
9. I was the 1997 Audubon County Fair Queen. and yes, I know what the four H's stand for. Just ask!
10. I have the best friends and family ever.
11. My secret desire to own a big loud truck. A Chevy of course.
12. I hate dogs (except my parent's coon hound) and love cats. meow.
13. I've waitressed for 8 years of my life. Right now I am working at the Urbandale Golf and Country Club... and most days I wonder why I am still there.
14. My favorite band is Foreigner. I went to their concert at the State Fair last summer and it was the best concert EVER. I have the guitar pick to prove it.
15. I hate cleaning. and I mean I HATE cleaning.
16. I was an Iowa fan until junior high. Then along came Fred Hoiberg and I fell in love and became a Cyclone fan soon after that...and have been one ever since.
17. I would love to get my PhD but I priced it out at Drake and it would cost $30,000. I don't have that kind of $$.

21. I suck at spelling...I know... not a good trait for being in the marketing/communicaitons arena.

Tomorrow is a big day for me as the new ICS Web site is launched. I've been workin on this project from day one. It was one of those projects that your boss gives you, with very little guidance, and you go off and figure everything out along the way. Fortunately, we had a great Web designer and so far so good.
I've been working my a$$ off the last few wks trying to get everything ready for tomorrow. And what I mean is 10-14 hour days. I'd sit in front of the laptop at night uploading images, making links etc. But today around 3:30 I finished the site - at least to a point we're it's ready to launch. Granted, there is still lots of "coming soon" posted, but enough were everyone is gonna go wow when its launched tomorrow.
I did three things to celebrate the almost-end of this project. First I bought a plan ticket to Denver for the third week of February. Call it a mini-vaca or whatever you want but I got a roundtrip tix from Omaha to Denver for $114. Plus, I'll not be in Des Moines for 4 whole days! Yeah!!!! What a way to reward myself.
Secondly I am getting my hair cut and colored tomorrow. I've been putting it off for weeks now but with my crazy work schedule and the weather, there just hasn't been time. Best part....the appointment is at 3:30pm so I am leaving early. Sure it doesn't make up for the endless hours I've logged but somehow it makes it feel a hell of lot better.
And lastly I went out to dinner with my old roomie Christina. We hadn't seen either other since before Christmas. Heck, she paid for the meal as it was for my birthday that was what? over 6 weeks go. Oh well. It was a fun way to end the weekend.
Brian and I went to the Drake/UNI game today. Me in my blue Drake fleece; Bri in his gray UNI sweatshirt. He clapped when I didn't and I am not sure I really had much to clap about....poor Drake. It was kinda like that at the Iowa game. I clapped a lot while Bri just sat there (he's an Iowa fan too!)
I've really enjoyed the Drake games lately. I must be coming more of a b-ball fan or something! The students were back and I must say Drake has awesome student fans. There were some dressed up as Smurfs and I just had to take a snapshot as many of you know my fascination with the Smurfs!
For some reason as we were walking to the car after the game I realized I had never been to the Drake/ISU game. Dad or Chad always go to that one... and I am not sure if I'd even want to go! I mean, who would I cheer for? I guess I could switch sweatshirts at half... or just continually clap and cheer. LOL.
Here is a photo from the game:
It's hard to believe its the 12th of January already and to celebrate the beginning of 2009 I decided to put together a list of my top 10 favorites...I know its going to be a little hard this year since nothing too exciting - except my job of course went on. No grand trip, no exciting moments...just lots of good times with friends and family. Hopefully next year though, the memories will be full of travel (see New Year Resolutions for details on that one!)
1. Dawn's Wedding: It's great to see her soo happy and I was excited to be a part of it.
2. My last day at IPA: memorable in a good way - I got to do lunch with my favorite co-workers and we had a wonderful time at Chicago Speakeasy. I must say 2008 was a year of firsts - first time I was laid off from a job!
3. My hair: bangs for the 1st time in what???? nine or ten years.
4. The neighbor dying - yes its sad but its made the duplex bearable again and NO christmas lights - yeah!!!! And no these are not in any kind of order. I'm just writing as it comes to me!
5. my pink camera - what might have been better was a purple camera but then again, I wanted little compact
6. my new coworkers- who could have asked for better co-workers (see #2) but then again, I like all my new coworkers
7. my new job - same job description, just diferent location...I almost put that I didn't have to drive to Ankney anymore, because yes, that is an accomplishment!
8. Obama being elected president. My vote did count! What might have been even sweeter would have been Edwards getting elected. Oh well.
9. NYE - wine, wine, wine and more wine... #9 works for all the wonderful times I've had with my friends
10. My birthday - the big 30 - between bowling and karoke and a wonderful meal with friends... and did I mention wine? yeah, wine too. It was one of the best birthdays yet. It will just be hard to top!
Saw that Laura did this and it looked kinda fun.

I am not usually one to make new year resolutions but this year I did. I want to go on lots of vacations this year since I had to cancel to vacas last year! I know for sure that I am going to Colorado for a nice long vacation to see my aunt/uncle/cousins. I would also like to make it to Boston, DC, Texas and/or Seattle but who knows what will happen. I would love to go to Boise (tix out of Omaha are only $200 right now) but I say Idaho and everyone looks at me funny. Why I want to go there? No clue... but I really do. So far though I haven't been able to convince anyone this is the world's best vacation spot. I am hoping to put New Orleans on my list for 2010 though.
I did start 2009 off right though with good wine and lots of great friends. Here is one of the pics from the evening:
The other exciting part of the evening is I ran into some old friends at the Underground and spent quite a bit of time talking to them! Ann and I even got a pic together!
Usually I don't drink much on NYE...heck, I don't drink hardly at all anymore but NYE I had several glasses of wine and that's all it took. I was as happy go lucky as they come. I even took an end of the evening pic when I got home.and when I saw it the next morning all I could say is WOW. I looked drunk. HAPPY 2009 EVERYBODY!
