I made a quick trip back to my parents on Sunday. I had to be back by 8:30am to meet my mom and head up to my grandpa's. The reason for the trip was to help my mom and grandpa pick apples. It's sorta of our tradition (last year we didn't go b/c the orchards lost their crops).
We went to Mondamin, IA, which is in the Loess Hills. Beautiful area! I remembered to bring along the new camera - the new Canon PowerShot A470 that I hadn't used yet to try it out. I was pleased.
We got 15 bags of apples. Mainly Jonathans. But we did get a few Golden Delicious and Red Delicious. Mom let me have a bag and now I am trying to decide what I want to make with them. I was thinking jam/jelly mixed with some other yummy fruits.
I drove back to Des Moines the next morning. I hadn't been up that early - to catch the sunrise - in a very long time. So I stopped and snapped a quick photo.
