It's almost one a.m. and I should be sleeping!! but I can't sleep and I probably will be this restless until I find out if I got the job at ICS. My interview today went well. I met w/ the rest of the staff and they were so friendly and down to earth!They said they would make a decision by this Friday.... so I guess its just sit back and wait. But then again, I've never been one for patience either.
I got back into town tonight from several days back at my parent's. It was fun. On Monday night my mom and I sat in the rain under a couple umbrellas watching the Carroll vs. Denison JV football game. It was a lot of fun -and luckily because of the big golf umbrella we didn't get too wet. I had family playing. My goal is to make it to the Harlan vs. Denison game next Monday when I am back in western IA. On Tuesday night I went into Manning with my folks to watch the high school volleyball game. My parents always try to make it to at least one game. I hadn't been to one since H.S. Plus this is the first year that Manning and IKM are combined. I wanted to wear my red Bulldog sweatshirt but Mom wouldn't let me!
While I was home, I did lots of baking. I made three apple pies. I had a piece of the one, and it tasted yummy! I also tried a new apple muffin recipe and that turned out delicious too. I also cleaned the house for my mom in exchange for new tennis shoes. Don't laugh... I had been wanting a new pair for a couple weeks now and just couldn't justify spending the money. So today before the interview I stopped at Kohls and I am now a proud owner of a new pair of walking shoes. It's the little things in life :-)
Speaking of walking shoes, I walked every day at my parents house. It's much different than walking in Des Moines. Hills!!!! I only did three miles but it was quite the workout. I always took my parents dog Paige with me.
As many of you know, I am not much of a dog person, but for some reason I have a really big soft spot for Paige. I enclosed the pic I took of her this weekend.
Unfortunately I did bring back my good camera. Hopefully I remember it on Sunday as I really want to get some harvest shots. I did have my little digital camera and Mom and I did take some shots of her flower bed to enlarge and frame in her upstairs bathroom.
I was also able to get a cool shot of my dad combining this weekend. I am pondering photoshopping it to make the combine bigger...but haven't decided for sure yet.
